I began a 10 week training program with Tom, as I wanted to take up running and do my first 10k next year.
Working with Tom has been a fantastic experience. Every session has been challenging, and every week I have learnt different techniques. I have learned a lot about my personal strength and motivation, and just how much I am physically capable of.
After 5 sessions with Tom I was running 4 miles, and I have noticed a massive difference in my strength and stamina. I am now also swimming faster, and for longer periods, and I am enjoying pushing myself.
The training sessions have opened my eyes to the importance of challenging myself physically. I am now running 3 times a week from home and the 10k is in sight.
Tom is a great role model and motivator. He has encouraged me to believe that I can achieve much more than I felt I was capable of. Tom constantly challenges himself, and leads by example. He is passionate about what he does and brings alot of humour into the sessions, which you definitey need when you hear the words; "just one more set of 15"! He has even got me to enjoy running, so there is no hope for me now.
I can't recommend Effort Personal Training highly enough. I would encourage anyone who wants to challenge themselves physically, to look no further than Effort Personal Training. Tom offers the rare combination of delivering great service, and of actually walking the walk, by constantly working on himself.

As a business HR Professional I was conscious that I spent more time sat at a desk or in my car than I would like and so I decided the time was right to make an effort to improve my fitness and energy levels. I had previously had gym memberships which I quickly became bored of and so did not want to go back!!
I met with Tom for an initial consultation where we discussed what I was hoping to achieve by working with a Personal Trainer and Tom explained his methods of training to ensure we both felt comfortable this would work for me.
Although after my first session I struggled to walk for 2 days I absolutely loved Toms method of training and the fact the exercises he teaches me can easily be done at home and are far more fun than being in the gym.
Although I am at the start of my 10 session package with Tom I feel motivated and confident that my new excercise regime can easily fit around my hectic life.
For anyone with a New Years resolution of getting fitter or trimmer I would highly recommend a visit to Tom at Effort Personal Training where you are definitely going to get better value and results than a wasted gym membership.
